How to manage projects remotely

Technology is fast allowing us to work from anywhere in the world. But many digital projects still operate within agency and in-house environments working with just the one team, in the same building.

The talk will briefly cover why projects aren’t managed remotely, reviewing the key takeaways from 37 Signal’s book ‘Remote’. Though the main focus is on the how to, sharing insights on the practicalities of the remote project from the perspective of a Digital Project Manager.

In this presentation Rachael offers a different perspective of a life with no in house designers or developers. This talk is designed to empower freelancers, SMEs and even larger corporates into exploring the opportunities of virtual collaboration and will cover tips and learning’s from managing digital projects across continents while managing multiple contacts.

Biography

Rachael’s career has primarily focused on digital, while also working on integrated projects across branding, SEO, print, and social media. An experienced account and project manager, both in agency and in-house environments including Iberia and UKFast.

Currently a Digital Project Manager at an international b2b communications agency BDB which has further expanded her skills as a PM managing multilingual projects across the continents.

Also creative outside the office, Rachael enjoys craft such as decoupage, knitting and sewing.
